Health Realization/Innate Health/3 Principles-Based Teaching Organizations & Individuals
Known originally as "Psychology of Mind", and by some as "health realization", this teaching or "understanding" also goes by the names "innate health" or "the three principles". You will also hear the term "resilience". It is based on the enlightened insights of Sydney Banks, connecting psychology with spirituality. What distinguishes Syd Bank's teachings are their startling simplicity and profound humanity. They go straight to the heart. Syd Banks is the inspiration for many books, teachers and counselors, including the popular books of Richard Carlson and Joe Bailey (Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, Slowing Down to the Speed of Life, etc.). The health realization or three principles approach has led to a dramatic shift in the way thousands of therapists treat their clients, businesses treat their employees and customers, teachers teach, how people that work in communities work... anywhere human relations and how we experience life is important. Don't pass over this stuff lightly. It's deep, and is changing lives and communities.

The

by Roger Mills, the author of Realizing Mental Health, and one of the
psychologists who, along with George Pransky, helped turn the insights of
Syd Banks into an applied psychological model.

The site for George Pransky, PH.d, and his organization. He is a psychologist
and does counseling and business consulting. He and Roger Mills helped to

International Human Relations Consultants: Robert Kausen was a chemical
engineer turned corporate trainer who changed his entire approach to helping
clients once he discovered Syd Bank's, Roger Mill's and George Pransky's work.
He was originally a partner in Health Realization, Inc. (see above). He found
the 3 principles approach tremendously useful in the corporate world. His
organization helps executives and anyone else who profits from leadership
training, stress reduction, human relationship improvement, etc. He is the
author of We've
Got
to Start Meeting Like This!.

Dimension 4
Consulting: This was originally the "Psychology of Mind Resource"
(POM) site started by John Woods on his own initiative, in Australia (partly
administered in Oregon). He is a businessman who got interested in POM/HR
(the "HR" standing for Health Realization) and eventually started
the Resource Center in 1997, doing classes, professional coaching, and made
available for sale and download POM-related materials over this web-site as
a service to the community. (They later changed their name to "Philosophy
of Living Centre"). This site was my first introduction to the field
in 1997, after reading Richard Carlson's book You
Can Be Happy No Matter What, and doing a search on the internet for POM.

3PHD is the
company started by Elsie Spittle and her husband Ken. Elsie was a friend and
neighbor of Syd Banks, who eventually was asked to teach "the understanding".
She has been involved with this field since the mid 70s and is a pioneer in
the training if it.

version of the health realization model, the most successful being the Don't
Sweat series.

The National
Resilience Resource Center: This apparently is where Joe Bailey is now. He
is a counselor, teacher and writer in Minnesota, wrote the books The Speed
Trap, Slowing Down To The Speed of Life (along with "Don't
Sweat the Small Stuff" Richard Carlson), and The Serenity Principle.

This used to be the AEquanimitas
Foundation, which was an educational organization that was involved in the
annual POM conferences, but in any case it is now a networking organization
and website. The board members are counselors and founders of clinics based
in Hawaii with a long hisotry of working wiht the 3 principles approach.

NOTE: I'm sure there are many other individuals and organizations using this approach, but these are the ones that I know about, either because I've had training with them (Health Realization, Inc.), contact with the individuals, or seen their presentations at an annual POM conference.
