Hope for America
I saw an article in the paper where an appellate court judge was ruling
on a lower court decision where a black man was sent to jail for
two years for stealing two bags of FRENCH FRIES (morally if your are
starving, this isn't stealing). The judge with tears in his voice
said: "I see here the end of the American Dream, our society loves
property more than people, loves non-thinking adults over children so
school buses have no seat belts. The children know what this means,
the parents don't, so, if the people in this court room will turn to
each other and say: 'Sister I forgive you, Brother I love you', then
I will read the decision of the judge". There was a minute of stunned
silence, and nothing happened! The presiding judge then said: "Court
is dismissed until my request is complied with". In the ensuing 3
months 2 people sued the judge, and a Birmingham editorial defended
the judge. The case was dismissed! Hope for America!
