dave stafford
dave stafford is an accomplished electric guitarist, specializing in working in the
new standard tuning for guitar, and also in the use of the energy bow as an alternative to
picking. he is also proficient at acoustic guitar and keyboards.
dave has produced several solo CDs spanning the period from 1983 to the
present. he has contributed tracks to an XTC tribute "skylacking", the
first looper's delight CD
(featuring the work of various looping musicians from around the world) and the "our secret studio" project,
a CD of songs celebrating the music of guitarist bill nelson.
another extra-curricular project is his contribution to the recent 3-CD boxset
compilation confessions
of young moderns a tribute to Bill Nelson, containing tracks inspired by his music.

dave is currently engaged in digitizing and transferring the pureambient.com
/ studio seventeen back
catalogue to CD, and at the same time is involved in a collaborative effort with new
studio seventeen artist ken mistove,
operating under the name "saffron
matted voids". this new cyberambient group is currently working on material for
their first CD, scheduled to be released in mid 2003. dave currently resides in escondido,
california and is composing, recording and occasionally performing in the local area.
